Juno Temple may be best known for her role as Keeley Jones in Ted Lasso, but she’s also starring in a new movie that has taken her career box office grosses to new heights. Temple played the role of Dr. Teddy Payne in Venom: The Last Dance, which opened with $51 million domestically and $124 million internationally, with a worldwide box office total of just $175 million. It amounted to 1 million dollars. This huge box office success brings Temple’s total box office revenue to over $2 billion, which currently stands at $2.08 billion. Much of that comes from her roles in Maleficent and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, where she played Thistlewit. Both Maleficent films grossed approximately $1.25 billion, more than half of her total box office gross of $2 billion.
Temple is one of the many new additions to the Venom series, making his debut in the third and final film of the trilogy. Chiwetel Ejiofor, best known for his role as Baron Mordo in Doctor Strange and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has also been cast in the film. He plays Strickland, the leader of a group of mercenaries who seek to hunt down, capture, and kill Eddie Brock and his fellow symbiotes. Rhys Ifans, who previously worked with Marvel as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard in Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man, will also play Martin, a carefree traveler searching for the truth about Area 51 in Venom: The Last Dance. He is starring in Several stars returned for Venom 3, including Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Stephen Graham as Detective Mulligan, and Peggy Lu as Mrs. Chen.
Critics and audiences are divided on ‘Venom: The Last Dance’
As with the previous Venom trilogy, reception for Venom: The Last Dance was far stronger among general audiences than critics. The film currently has a 37% “terrible” rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but a much higher 80% rating from general audiences. This is strikingly similar to the original Venom (2018), which had a 30% critic rating and 80% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The second film in the trilogy, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, received a high score of 54% from critics and 84% from general audiences on the composite site.
