Vera Wang reveals her down-to-earth beauty tips.
The bridal dress designer, who told Page Six Style that she is “75 and a quarter” old, said at Thursday night’s DKMS gala that she is very conservative when it comes to skin care.
“I have to say I’m pretty minimalistic,” she told us. “Maybe it’s because I’m Asian, but I’ve always been minimalist.”
“I have soap and cleanser, but I don’t do 18 steps. I know that’s what I should be doing now, but it wasn’t part of my administration,” she added.
She also remains calm about aging. “I don’t know how a 75-year-old should feel. I don’t feel like I did when I was 20,” she said.
“I hope my health is very balanced,” Want added. “I’m very passionate about it. It’s important not only for physical health but also for mental health.”
Ms Wang has garnered attention in recent years for her edgy outfits and bikini snaps, with people jokingly accusing her of “aging backwards”.
Unlike other powerful celebrities who brag about how they can get by on little sleep, Wang emphasizes that getting some shut-eye is “very important.”
“At least eight hours (overnight). I don’t feel healthy until I’m eight years old,” she said.
Wang also has a refreshingly relaxed diet, which she boasts previously included fast food, donuts, and vodka.
“I have my own vodka (line) and I don’t do Dunkin’ Donuts every day, but I’m not very strict about meal periods,” she explained.
This includes eating the occasional Big Mac at the office.
“I think (I like it) because it’s simple,” she elaborated. “You don’t have to think about it. I think if you’re very busy and have a packed schedule, you can (have) something easier in the day.
I don’t eat donuts every day, but I love Dunkin Donuts. It’s very American, that’s how I feel. ”
Wang was honored at the gala with her daughters Josephine and Seklia.
That night, $4.7 million was raised for global efforts against blood cancer.
