Vera Wang, who has worked in the bridal industry for over 30 years, believes there is “no single trend” that will lead the market, especially when it comes to bridal jewelry.
The acclaimed bridal designer has teamed up with Zales for her latest Vera Wang Love bridal jewelry collection, marking Wang’s 12th year of collaboration with the Signet-owned jewelry brand.
Wang’s 38-piece engagement and wedding ring collection is divided into three categories, reflecting the range of brides’ tastes: Romantic, Princess, and Minimalist. These pieces are made with both natural and lab-created diamonds and decorated with sapphires on the outside or inside of the style. Styles range in price from $2,699 to $11,119.
“If you look at[the collection]you can see that it really features different types of brides, because we’re not all the same,” Wang said. “We don’t get married the same way. We don’t dress the same way. So for me, the real trends in bridal and weddings are that there’s no single trend. It doesn’t exist, and we’ve been helping to promote it for over 30 years.”

The three categories of the collection aim to offer a versatile range of bridal jewellery. The Romantic category offers a variety of engagement rings designed with floral motifs and feminine elements. Wang said the category also offers yellow gold styles not typically offered in her collection.
“The fact that we offer yellow gold probably brings a little bit of a mix. It’s a little more fashion. So, the romantic group, I really adore it,” Wang said. “That’s something we’ll continue to build on.”
Wang said the princess category offers “more dreamy and flashy” cuts, with styles that emphasize the center stone. The minimalist category, which reflects Wang’s own style, focuses solely on the center stone. This category offers engagement rings up to 5 carats, which Wang said has rarely been done in previous Zales collections.
“This is a very exciting time for us because we are working on jewelry in a really big way and we will also be working on fashion jewelry,” Wang said. “But the bridal part was really very energizing for me. It really gave me the opportunity to rethink, adjust, reposition, and recreate an engagement ring. It’s probably the best thing women have ever done. It’s probably one of the most important pieces of jewelry I’ve ever owned.
Ms. Wang believes that her deep understanding of the bridal market is why her Zales bridal jewelry collection has been able to resonate with customers since the partnership began in 2011.
“I’ve probably dressed more brides in the history of weddings than anyone else on this planet,” she said. “I think you can definitely say that. If you’ve done that kind of work, working with brides, you have some kind of connection. There’s definitely a real thing, there’s definitely a history like that. If a bride trusts me with her dress, which is probably the most important thing in most people’s lives, I think it makes a lot of sense for her to trust me with her engagement ring as well.”
