Video footage showed flames coming from beneath the Frontier plane that made a hard landing in Las Vegas after reports of smoke in the cockpit on Saturday, officials said.
Frontier Airlines said in a statement that Flight 1326 was en route from San Diego to Las Vegas when “the pilot detected smoke and declared a state of emergency.”
The Federal Aviation Administration said there were reports of smoke in the cockpit of the Airbus 321 before it made an emergency landing at Harry Reid International Airport.
The airport was the destination of the plane.
Harry Reid Airport Program Manager Amanda Mazzagatti said the flight had a “hard landing” and the Clark County Fire Department immediately responded.
The plane landed safely and all passengers and crew were evacuated using the stairs. We were then taken to the terminal by bus.
No injuries were reported, according to the airline and airport.
The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. local time. A ground stop was in place at the airport until 7 p.m. Saturday, the FAA said.
Video of the incident posted on social media shows the plane rolling on the runway with flames and smoke appearing to come from the bottom of the plane near its wheels. A trail of thick smoke follows behind.
Video footage showed a fire truck approaching as the plane came to a stop and spraying fire to put out the fire.
