MILAN — Vivienne Westwood will be the next guest designer brand to showcase its bridal creations at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, scheduled to take place from April 23 to 26, and will be the star of the next fair.
Best known as the brand founded by the late mother of the punk and rebel of a hundred causes, Vivienne Westwood is now in collaboration with her long-time life and design partner, creative director Andreas Kron. With Thaler at the helm, the company will present its 2026 bridal wear collection in the Spanish city.
The brand’s bridal wear was officially introduced in 2019, building on the past 20 years of offering bespoke bridal pieces from the brand’s boutique on London’s Davis Street. It currently consists of a couture line and a made-to-order line, the latter based on carryover designs and seasonal bridal designs, and is available to order at select Vivienne Westwood flagship stores and luxury retailers around the world.
The line burst onto the global stage with a wedding dress designed for Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw on “Sex and the City.” Best known to many fans as the dress Mr. Big made her stand in in the first film of the series, this dress became one of the character’s most famous looks.

The Barcelona show will mark the first time that Vivienne Westwood will present her bridal collection on the catwalk, with around 30 dresses paraded around the Spanish city.
The runway event is scheduled for April 24 as part of the Barcelona Bridal Night Gala, which kicks off the fair. The British brand chose the University of Barcelona’s Clostro (Corridor), a 19th-century landmark and fine example of Catalan architecture, as its show venue.
Brigitte Steptis, Design Director, Couture and Bridal at Vivienne Westwood, said: “We are thrilled to be participating in Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week next April and presenting our first bridal collection on the catwalk.” I think so,” he said. “The show we are presenting in Barcelona is a celebration of femininity and individuality. In Vivienne’s own words: “My clothes allow you to project your personality, give you the opportunity to express yourself. “I’ll give it to you,” Steptis said.
As the guest designer brand for the 2025 edition, Vivienne Westwood follows in the footsteps of Giambattista Valli, Elie Saab and Victor & Rolf, who exhibited at the 2024, 2023 and 2022 bridal fairs, respectively.
“For this 2025 edition, no brand is more representative than Vivienne Westwood, which is inspired by art, creativity and sustainability. These values are key in its ability to redefine fashion and its relationship with fashion. “The social and natural environment are the values we share with the iconic British brand,” said trade fair director Albasari Caro. “The presence of this brand is a call to bold and daring brides and a real privilege for both Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week and the city of Barcelona,” she added.

Among fans of the brand’s bridal wear, Miley Cyrus married Liam Hemsworth in an off-the-shoulder dress from the British designer brand in 2018, and she married William Ivey in Brussels in 2022. The same was true for Princess Maria Laura.
The 2025 edition of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will be held at the city’s Montjuïc venue, with around 30 fashion shows bringing the showcase to life over the first four days. Organizer Fira de Barcelona expects the physical trade fair, to be held at the fairgrounds from April 25th to 27th, to attract around 360 exhibitors, mainly from abroad.
