buncombe county
Buncombe County Government encourages anyone interested in donating or providing equipment, or has questions about specific needs, to email helenedonations@buncombecounty.org.

The Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministries (ABCCM) Medical Clinic is accepting medical donations Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Acceptable items are manufactured bottles that are sealed, unexpired, require only refrigeration, and do not contain controlled substances or cancer drugs.
ABCCM also provides primary health care, which is available to all adults at this time.

Beloved Asheville is providing food, water, diapers and baby formula, as well as accepting donations, county leaders said.
MANNA FoodBank is launching a significant donation and distribution effort at the WNC Farmers Market. Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 2-5. Items needed:
Shelf-stable foods (preferably pop-top cans that don’t require a can opener) Bottled water Infant and toddler formula and food Diapers
Haywood County
The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office says donations can be dropped off at Woodland Baptist Church, 545 Crabtree Road in Waynesville. Click here for a list of supplies needed and information about volunteering.

In Canton, donations are being accepted behind City Hall (85 Summer Street). Donations will be transferred to the IP Sports Complex for distribution. Items needed are:
Non-perishable food and pop-top cans Water (gallon jugs) Powdered milk, diapers, and wipes Pet food Toiletries (toothpaste, deodorant) First aid supplies Feminine products Soaps, disinfectants, paper towels, cleaning supplies New socks and underwear Batteries (AA, (AA, AAA) rope and tarpaulin gloves (nitrile, latex, leather) shovel bar chain oil small propane tank
Those wishing to volunteer can also gather at the IP Sports Complex. For more information, call Byron Hickox at 828-734-3946.
henderson county
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is inviting donors to take advantage of the new donation drop-off site located at 118 Maccabee Court, Flat Rock, North Carolina.
HCSO says that in Henderson County, employees working at the distribution center will receive donations and distribute the donated items to six other resource sites, so donated items will go directly to the other six resource sites that have been established. Instead, it will be dropped off at the Maccabee Court distribution center. A member of the public will come to pick it up.
Maccabee Court is for donation returns only.
Non-perishable items such as bottled water, toiletries, and baby formula are accepted, but this site does not accept perishable items or new/used clothing.

Additionally, Henderson County has launched a wellness check status map for missing contacts. This map shows people whose whereabouts and safety are unknown in red, and blue dots indicate contacts.
Check the map to see if you’re on the list or know the location of someone on this map. To notify Henderson County of any updates regarding someone’s status, call (828) 771-6670.
McDowell County
For those who would like to support recovery efforts, here are some ways to contribute:
Volunteer Line: Call the Citizen Volunteer Coordinator at (828) 559-9731 to find out how you can help.
Donation Drop Point: Donations of essential items can be dropped off at the Universal Advanced Manufacturing Center located at 634 College Drive, Marion, NC. The following items are accepted.
Bottled water Baby supplies (diapers, wipes, etc.) Non-perishable food drop-off hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Polk County
For those in Polk County who would like to donate but are unable to physically do so, donations and supplies can now be shipped through Tryon International, located at 4066 Pea Ridge Road, Mill Spring, North Carolina.
If you are interested in making a financial contribution to recovery efforts, please write a check to the Green River Foundation, write “Hurricane Helen Relief” in the memo and mail it to the address above.
100% of donations will go to relief efforts in Polk, Rutherford, Henderson, and Buncombe Counties, North Carolina, and Spartanburg County, South Carolina. 100% of your donations are tax deductible.
transylvania county
Anchor Baptist is coordinating volunteer efforts and is accepting donations to support its efforts, the sheriff’s office said. For donations or volunteer availability, please contact Anchor Baptist directly. They will coordinate to help distribute public resources of food, water, and other supplies.
