The Warren County College and Career Fair was held at the Warren County School District Central Office. The event, hosted by the Warren Forest Higher Education Council in collaboration with the Warren County School District, gave students the opportunity to meet with more than 50 representatives from universities and local employers.
Students from Warren Area High School, Eisenhower High School, Sheffield High School, Youngsville High School, Tidiout Charter High School, East Forest High School and West Forest High School gather by bus for this event, where they can explore future education and career options. Ta.
Local employers were invited to participate and students were provided with information about continuing education as well as direct employment after graduation.
Angela Bigelow, assistant director of Warren Forest Higher Education Council, emphasized the importance of offering students a variety of options.
“We have kids in our county who want to work after high school, and we wanted to provide something for those kids as well.” Bigelow said. “The content was rich and I hope all the children took away useful information that will help them make the right choices for their future.”
In addition to the career fair, the City Council is working with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency to bring Amy Sloan to the central office, where she will work on making college more affordable for students and families. I gave a presentation about. Mark King of the Community Foundation of Warren County also spoke to families and explained local scholarship opportunities available through the foundation. The presentation had nearly 70 attendees and highlighted the growing interest in finding financial solutions for higher education.
Warren Forest Higher Education Council has several upcoming events scheduled to further support students and families on their path to higher education. On January 14th from 6-7:30 p.m., the Warren Forest Higher Education Council will host a FAFSA completion event to assist families with the process of applying for financial aid. Additionally, from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 1, the Warren Forest Higher Education Council will host a free workshop titled “Navigating Local Scholarships: Application and Essay Tips.” This event is designed to provide valuable guidance and support to students preparing for the future.
