While Chad Gable has shown impressive wrestling skills since his days on WWE NXT, he has quietly been delivering the best performances of his career on WWE Raw. The former Olympian has become a staple on Monday nights with his recent impressive run.
Gable has made waves with his explosive match against Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and his heel turn leading American Made alongside the Creed Brothers. When asked about the moment that changed his WWE career recently on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, Gable said: “The heel turn worked wonders for me,” Gable noted.
Editor’s Recommendation
“That’s true. I got to a point where everything was going well with Babyface. Things were going well with Alpha Academy and it was a lot of fun. But I’m also a realist and a long-term thinker, so I thought that if I continued with this character, which has comedic elements, it might stunt my growth.
This has allowed a larger audience to take me seriously.”
Chad Gable’s bold move
He also revealed that the idea of being a bad guy was his own idea: he wanted to make an impact on the biggest stage and didn’t want to disappoint those who believed in him. His gamble paid off, as evidenced by his current standing within WWE.
Despite enjoying the role, Gable hasn’t shied away from speaking out about some of the frustrations he’s experienced during his tenure with the organization. Still, he remains focused on further developing as one of WWE’s elite competitors.
His journey in WWE, however successful it may seem, has not been without its difficulties, and despite being open about some of the incidents that occurred during his time with the company, having previously enjoyed what he calls a “great run” as part of the Alpha Academy team and other characters, shows that Gable is more determined than ever to ride that momentum and establish himself as one of the best talents in WWE.
This is one of the most exciting periods in his performing career, allowing him to adapt and grow, plus, fans may expect even more from Gable as time goes on.
