There is no denying that Balineni Srinivasa Reddy is one of the influential leaders in Ongole Assembly constituency. He may have lost the 2024 state assembly elections but he is still considered as one of the loyal Reddy community leaders of the YCP in Ongole area.
While Balineni is widely considered to be a staunch supporter of the YS family, recent media speculation has suggested that he may soon leave the YCP and join the Janasena Party.
According to a report in a leading Telugu media tabloid, Balineni, who has been at odds with top leaders of Yanukovych’s Communist party for long, believes now is the right time to end his journey with Jagan.
Factually, it seems that Balini was on the verge of quitting the YCP before the 2024 elections citing the fact that his close friend Magunta was denied the Assembly seat from Ongole by Jagan. However, Jagan himself later placated Balini and convinced him to stay with the party and contest from Ongole. But the result was a disaster, with Balini losing by a landslide.
Mr. Balini was first denied a ministerial post during Jagan’s second cabinet expansion, which was said to have caused him great damage, and then Mr. Magunta was expelled. At the moment, the situation in Jagan’s camp is not very favorable for Mr. Balini.
At the same time, rumours are doing the rounds at the ground level that a senior leader from Reddy’s party is considering joining the Janasena Party and he may meet Pawan Kalyan soon to discuss the matter.
While on the one hand, Balineni is fighting the EVMs through his EVM revalidation fight in the Supreme Court, internally he is keeping the door open for Janasena and his supporters are also optimistic about this, the report said.
However, both Janasena and TDP are adamant not to allow YCP candidates and leaders as it is very clear from the public that YCP and its leadership group do not have the support of the common people. As of now, there is discussion of Balini joining Janasena. We can only wait and watch how things develop in the future.
