BJP national spokesman Shehzad Poonawalla accused the Indian National Congress of “inciting violence” and “undermining India’s democratic institutions”.
BJP national spokesman Shehzad Poonawalla slammed Congress leader Salman Khurshid for suggesting unrest similar to that in neighbouring Bangladesh could erupt in India. The BJP leader accused the Congress of “inciting violence” and “undermining India’s democratic institutions.”
“They hate Modi, they hate India. Salman Khurshid and the Indian National Congress are instigating and praying for the same in India as they did in Bangladesh. Do they want Hindus to be attacked in India? Who are they sending a message to? My family has already told me to vote for Jihad, now actual violence? Isn’t this undermining India’s democratic institution? This is not the first time they have put Rajniti above the people. Will the Indian National Congress take action against him?” Poonawalla wrote in X’s post.
Hatred towards Modi is also hatred towards India. Salman Khurshid/Indian National Congress is instigating/praying for the Bangladesh violence to happen in India in parallel. Does he want Hindus to be attacked in India? To whom is he sending the signal?

Indian National Congress leader Salman Khurshid suggested on Tuesday that anti-government protests similar to those in Bangladesh could erupt in India “despite an appearance of normalcy”.
“Everything may seem normal in Kashmir. Everything may seem normal here. We may be celebrating our victory but some think that the victory or success in 2024 is probably just marginal and a lot more needs to be done. It doesn’t change the fact that there is something below the surface. It doesn’t change the fact that what happened in Bangladesh can happen here too. The spread of infection in our country is preventing an explosion like what happened in Bangladesh,” Khurshid said while addressing the event.
Congressional leaders respond
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor denied making any comments about Salman Khurshid’s remarks and said he “doesn’t want to react”.
