X Shore, the leading Swedish electric boat manufacturer, has announced its largest single sale to date. The company is preparing to fill an order for 32 electric boats contracted with yacht management service M Yachts.
Although electric boats are still a minority in most marinas around the world, each year the industry sees new advances and their availability expands.
X Shore’s latest announcement highlights expanded sales and availability of electric pleasure boats.
The order includes 32 boats to be delivered to the DACH region, which includes Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Completion is scheduled for the end of next year.
With increasing bans on internal combustion engines on lakes and waterways around Europe, the region is expected to continue to see accelerated growth in the electric boat industry in the coming years.
“The DACH region is an important market for X Shore, sharing a deep connection to the water and a commitment to sustainable boating,” explained X Shore CEO Rene Hansen. “This agreement with M Yachts, which will deliver 32 boats, reflects our shared vision to unite boating with nature through sustainable performance, seamless technology and modular, minimalist design. This is an important part of our long-term commercial strategy and we are excited about the future growth our partnership with M Yachts will bring. It not only highlights the growing demand for innovative boating solutions, but also strengthens X Shore’s strategic foothold in a region at the forefront of electric mobility.”
X Shore has established itself as a major player in the electric marine industry with three eye-catching models of premium electric boats.
Founded in 2016, X Shore is focused on developing environmentally friendly, high-performance electric boats that offer a quiet, emissions-free experience. The company is perhaps best known for its Eelex 8000 model, a sleek, modern electric boat designed for both leisure and performance. In addition to its flagship model, the company introduced the X Shore 1 as a more affordable model that still carries much of the company’s modern interpretation of Scandinavian marine design.
“The X-Shore boat is a fantastic achievement of engineering and design, and we are very excited to soon be showcasing it across our sites in the DACH region,” said Jan-Ole Hagen and Philipp von, Managing Partners of M Yachts. Arnim explained in a statement provided to Electrek. “The boat is fast, sleek and built with true craftsmanship in X Shore’s Swedish factory. We are confident that our customers will love it and will offer a very high We anticipate demand. Given our dual love of boating and the natural world, we know the X-Shore boats will be particularly popular in the DACH region.”
Electric boats are rapidly encroaching on the niche left by internal combustion engine boats in the commercial boating market, with electric ferries replacing fossil fuel-powered boats across Europe.
But we’re starting to see a shift toward electrification in recreational boats as well.
As companies like X Shore continue to enjoy strong order volumes, the future of boating is shaping up to be quieter, more relaxing, and more sustainable.
