According to Conrad Thompson, Eric Bischoff has found a new career in the mortgage industry, as it turns out the veteran pro wrestling star started out as a mortgage loan officer.
After finding success in the mortgage industry, Thompson put together a team of talented people to start Save with Conrad, but soon his connection to professional wrestling through podcasting brought his company even more attention, and he later welcomed Eric Bischoff to his 83 Weeks Show podcast.
Thompson told Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso that Eric Bischoff is ready for a new adventure, and detailed how the WWE Hall of Famer ended up in the mortgage industry.
“Eric knew I worked with mortgages and was looking to refinance. We worked it out, put together a plan, and found a way to help me, in his words, change his life. We did a podcast together and he was gushing about how I’d saved him so much money. That’s when Eric became hooked on the idea of helping people in a similar way.”
Eric Bischoff wants to help people
Thompson said Bischoff didn’t want anyone to know about his new project, adding that he liked the idea of helping people, just like Thompson did. Bischoff, 69, passed an exam with a high failure rate to become certified. Thompson decided to hire Eric Bischoff as a mortgage loan officer, revealing that this was the true image of a motivated veteran who genuinely wanted to help people. He said:
“He’s not doing this to make a living, he’s doing it because he wants to,” Thompson said. “I know he played a bad guy on TV, but that’s TV. This is reality, and the real Eric Bischoff is passionate and motivated to help people.”
Bischoff works from an office in his Wyoming home and interacts with people, who he says are excited to help, some of whom may be wrestling fans who know him well.
“It’s wrestling fans who respond to Conrad’s ads. When wrestling fans call about a new home or refinancing, they know me. They love to take my calls, and I love being of service to them. If I can save someone money every month just by looking at the big picture of their finances, that’s very rewarding. That made a deep impression on me.”
Following a successful career as a professional wrestler, Bischoff continues to help many people and remains passionate about making an impact in the mortgage industry.
