Zayn Malik has postponed his US tour, which was scheduled to begin next week, following the death of former One Direction member Liam Payne.
“In light of the heartbreaking loss we have experienced this week, we have made the decision to postpone the U.S. leg of our Sky Tour,” Malik wrote on social media on Saturday, days after mourning Payne’s death at a concert with members of One Direction. I wrote it in. 31 years old.
“The dates will be rescheduled for January and we will post them as soon as they are decided in the next few days. Tickets will still be valid for the new dates.”
The singer added, “I love you all and thank you for your understanding.”
Malik’s first solo tour in support of his latest album, “Room Under the Stars,” was scheduled to kick off in San Francisco on October 23rd, followed by stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New York City. The European campaign is scheduled to begin on November 20th in Edinburgh, Scotland.
On Wednesday, Malik and his former 1D bandmates remembered Payne in a lengthy statement following his death from injuries suffered in a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
“Liam, I realize I’m talking to you out loud. I hope you can hear me and not selfishly think we need to have more conversations in our lives. I couldn’t stay,” Malik wrote. “I can’t thank you enough for supporting me during the most difficult times in my life. When I missed home as a 17-year-old kid, you were always there with a positive outlook and a reassuring smile. You are my friend and you have shown me that I am loved.
“Although you were younger than me, you were always wiser than me, stubborn and opinionated, and didn’t mind telling people when you were wrong,” Malik added. “We clashed several times over this matter, but I always secretly respected you.”

Malik went on to recall Payne’s professionalism when he was assigned to One Direction and how he was “the most qualified person in every way” to join the group. “I was always happy to know that no matter what happened on stage, I could always rely on you to steer the ship next,” he said.
“When you left us, I lost a brother. I wish I could hug you one last time, say goodbye properly, and let you know that I loved and respected you so much. “I can’t explain what I can give you if you ask me,” Malik added. . “I will always cherish the memories I have with you in my heart.”
